A new Positive collection by Honkatalot! 
The Positive House –collection radiates a new refreshing spirit. This collection has been designed as a co-operation with Swedish architect office Spacewalk. The architecture of these houses is modern but at the same time clear cut and timeless. The houses of The Positive House –collection can be built as they are designed but the models can also be altered to meet the individual wishes. These houses are designed to be built with the green-built home structure by Honkatalot.

A non-poisonous glue in the production of laminated logs!
We use a non-poisonoous glue in the production of laminated logs and beams. This Swiss glue named Purbond is formaldehyde-free and doesn't contain other poisonous ingredients either. The glue is safe and doesn't give off any harmful gases to room air.
The cooperation between Sami Seliö and Honkatalot continues!
The Formula 1 Powerboat racer Sami Seliö and Honkatalot have continued their cooperation agreement. Honkatalot wishes to participate in supporting a successful sportsman. Sami Seliö was recently chosen as the best boat racer in the Nordic countries.
- I accept these kinds of titles with gratitude. It is a grate honour and I value it very high, Sami Seliö says.
Seliö visited the Helsinki International Boat Fair, after which the journey continues to Italy for testing.
- A good weekend. Continuation for the Lahti GP (12.-13.6.2009) was confirmed on Friday, and now this award for being the best racer in the Nordic countries. The feeling is good and I’m full of enthusiasm for the new season.

Machinery that represents the most modern production technology of the house production industry in Finland is used in our factory. We have done outstanding technical development work for example in the production of laminated logs and other wood machining. Our latest investment is the new Hundegger K2i joinery machine, which is unique in Finland.
Log and wooden houses are produced in the industry in many different ways. Therefore it is worth checking carefully what kind of a product you are purchasing before making the final decision. What is the level of quality and the extent of pre-fabrication of the machining and joints? Are the joints accurate wooden joints or realised with metal bolts? Are the joints done at the factory already, or is the non-machined wooden material just delivered to the building site? Can the manufacturer realise slanting corners and other dove-tail joints (in oriels for example), so that the ends of the logs do not hinder furnishing and the high-quality look of the house? What is the quality grading of the wood used in the house? What kind of technology has been used to machine the laminated beams and laminated logs? What is the surface of the planed materials like? Etc.

The new Chalet -collection will be published in January!
The new collection which will be published in January has received a lot of influences from Middle-Europe and it’s completely new style in Finland. The collection includes 11 models all of which are suitable as homes and also as leisure accommodation. The sizes of the models vary from 130 square meters to almost 500 square meters. Most of the models are log houses.

The luxurious Art & Design Villas of Honkatalot are being built in Anttolanhovi.

Anttolanhovi which is owned by the Pulmonary Association Heli organised about three years ago an architectural design competition for young architectural students. As a result of this competition 13 luxurious villas are being built right next to Anttolanhovi down by the lake Saimaa. Emma Johansson and Timo Leiviskä were the winners of this competition. Johansson designed the villas by the lake and Leiviskä the ones on the sloping terrain. All six villas on the sloping terrain are already finished. During the summer also the seven villas by the lake will be finished.
The villas are Honkatalot Eco Homes and they have been designed and built ecologically friendly, including the surface materials. The floors are natural stones, wall materials Finnish birch and outdoor flagstones Finnish stones. Indoor fabrics include linen, cotton and wool.
The Art & Design Villas combine Finnish design, art and architecture. Visual arts is also an essential part of interior design of the villas. Also the furniture and the fabrics are Finnish design and handcraft. Please feel free to check out the modern Honkatalot Eco Homes!

The most modern wood processing technology in the world!
Now we are using new Hundegger K2i– special processing machine. It represents the most modern technology in the world. The first Hundegger in our factory was introduced in 1998. Now we have the more advanced version, which is the first one on the Finnish log homes markets.
This ensures the best possible level in our product’s quality and finishing. The machine allows to realize even more precise processing in post and beam structures, corner joints, city-corners and others special solutions.

Honkatalot vacation home for Mika Kallio!
Honkatalot has made an co-operation agreement with Grand Prix motorcycle racing star Mika Kallio. Mika Kallio will have custom built Honkatalot laminated log vacation home. The finnish MotoGP racing star will attend Honkatalot housing fair in Espoo in July. The exact date will be announced later!

The show house Kotina 37 is a modern eco-wooden
home.
The show house Kotina 37 was materialized using the eco-wooden home structure. The structure of a eco-wooden home does not contain plastic. The mineral wool and plastic used as insulation in a conventionally built wooden house is replaced with wood fibre insulant and sellulose products. The air in the rooms is clean and fresh to breathe which makes it the perfect solution especially for people suffering from asthma or allergies.
The Honkatalot eco-wooden homes are manufactured using pre-cut techniques, that combine the benefits of traditional on-site construction and commercial manufacturing. The house will be completed quickly as it is put together on the spot using ready-made building materials. The wall structure is a seamless, safe entity.
A wooden house manufactured using the pre-cut technique enables versatile solutions accurate to the millimeter. Most of Honkatalot eco-wooden houses are the results of modern architechture. The houses often have large glass surfaces and the roofs tend to have either a flat- or a pent-roof.
The manufacturing team and the architect have close and intense cooperation.
All show houses in Espoo fair are designed by an architect. Honkatalot has close and intense cooperation with the architects, and the majority of Honkatalot homes are designed by architects. The show house in Espoo is designed by Juha Ilonen according to the preferences of the owners of the house.
”The house is tailor-made according to the needs of the buyer family and also for a slope on a southern building ground. Due to the slope the main rooms of the house are located in the second floor, which creates a natural route to the sunny upper courtyard, better view and the possibility to open the windows to all points of the compass. The locations of the maintenance spaces on the first floor have enabled to build the second floor to a uniform and spacious leisure room. The main room has slanting roof that opens voraciously to the sun. The possible increasement of bedrooms has been noted in both storeys by using partition wall reserve. The upper space of the carport has been exploited as a large roof terrace that is a part of the main storey”, reports the architect Juha Ilonen.
